- Today 20 Children Will Receive The Prime Minister’s National Child Award.

On the occasion of Brave Children’s Day, President Draupadi Murmu will honor 20 children with ‘Prime Minister’s National Children’s Award’ on Friday. These children have been selected from 18 states and union territories. The program will be held at Vigyan Bhawan, Delhi at 11:00 am.
After this, Veer Bal Diwas program will be organized at Bharat Mandapam, Delhi at 12:30 pm. In which child award winners and school children from across the country will be included. PM Modi will address children and youth.
Veer Bal Diwas is organized in honor of the martyrdom of four sons of Guru Gobind Singh. Guru Gobind Singh had four sons from three wives, namely Ajit, Jujhar, Zorawar and Fateh. They are also called Sahibzade.
On 26 December 1705, all four sons were murdered by the Mughal army. To honor their martyrdom, PM Modi had announced to celebrate Veer Bal Diwas on 26 December in 2022.

Earlier this award was given in six categories. These included art and culture, bravery, innovation, education, social service and sports. Now science and technology have also been added to it.

Every winner of the Prime Minister’s National Children’s Award is given a medal and a certificate. Along with this, the award winners also get a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh.
17 children were given awards in 2024

17 children from 14 States/Union Territories were selected for the Prime Minister’s National Child Award in 2024. These included 7 boys and 10 girls. Children’s awards are given in seven categories. Which includes Art and Culture, Bravery, Innovation, Science and Technology, Social Work, Sports and Environment. A popular name in the sports category is that of 3 year old Anish Sarkar.
