‘Who’s Eze?’ North London Can Feel His ‘Aura’ Now: Mikel Arteta Chuffed After NLD Masterclass

There’s only one fair way to sum up Arsenal’s dismantling of Spurs — and it comes courtesy of a bit of an adlibbed iconic quote from Gooner-in-chief, Troopz:

“King who? King what? Berechi-BOMBACLAAT-King, blud!”

Thomas Frank won’t forget THAT name anytime soon. Neither will Tottenham, after Eberechi Eze torched them with a sensational hat-trick in Arsenal’s 4–1 North London derby beatdown on Sunday night.

Remember, Arsenal snatched Eze on deadline day — practically right under Spurs’ nose — splashing £60 million to pry him from Crystal Palace.

On Sunday, the boyhood Arsenal fan looked every bit the bargain, paying back a fat chunk of that fee in 90 minutes of pure chaos.

This is the same Eze who scored a memorable FA Cup final winner for Palace last season. But at Arsenal? He’d scored once in the Premier League before yesterday.

In his first North London derby? Hat-trick. Aura. Stardust. Superhero stuff.

Eze struck on both sides of halftime with cool, edge-of-the-box finishes, before firing past Vicario again in the 76th minute to seal the rout. Suddenly, Arsenal’s already stacked attack looks like it has a brand-new centrepiece.

Mikel Arteta practically couldn’t stop grinning.

“When a player has such a talent, and his desire is at that level, then these things happen… He brought something else. It’s a joy, it’s an aura that this team needed.”

And Arteta isn’t wrong.

Eze’s been in form for England too, scoring against Latvia and Serbia and now looking locked in for Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup squad.

Arsenal badly needed a response after dropping points before the break.

Instead, they delivered a statement win, extended their unbeaten run to nine, and watched Liverpool and City both slip up.

Suddenly, the title race has a favourite — and he wears red and white. Arteta, obviously, is pretending nothing’s happening.

“Six points is not much… We’re doing really well. We’ve been really consistent. That’s it.”
