Zoho founder Sridhar Vembu has advised young entrepreneurs to get married and plan to have children in their 20s (20 to 29 years of age).
He disagreed with the statement of actor Ram Charan’s wife and industrialist Upasana Kamini Konidela on egg freezing and said that it is not right to postpone it (marriage and children).
After this, his X post went viral and the debate on marriage age, career and family intensified on social media.
Upasana said- Egg freezing is the biggest insurance for women.
Upasana had said in an event at IIT Hyderabad, ‘The biggest insurance for women is to save their eggs. With this you can marry as per your wish. She can decide when to have children. When you become financially independent.
She gave an example from her life that today she stands on her own, earns her own money and this security gave her the courage to take bold decisions.

Here, Upasana also got mixed reactions, some called her a forward thinker and some called her privileged. The debate focused on the right age for marriage, work-life balance and gender differences.
What does demographic duty mean?
Vembu called his advice Demographic Duty, that is, responsibility for the balance of population. In a country like India where the fertility rate is falling, this seems logical. Experts say that late marriage makes family planning difficult, but career pressure also does not reduce.

Married at 25, left wife and child at 57
57 year old Sridhar Vembu married Pramila Srinivasan in 1993. Both of them have a son and lived in America. In early 2020, Vembu shifted to his village in Tamil Nadu. Left wife and son in California. In November 2020, news of divorce was revealed on WhatsApp.
Pramila alleges that Vembu secretly transferred most of the shares of Joho to his sister Radha and relatives. Due to this, an attempt was made to reduce the 50% share available under California’s Community Property Law. Radha now has 47.8% stake.
Whereas Vembu says that no shares of any kind have been transferred. He came to India for rural development and also invited his wife and son.
