Delhi School Holidays: Despite a drop in temperatures today, pollution levels have increased further, with residents increasingly complaining of colds, coughs, and headaches.
Residents in Delhi-NCR are struggling with severe air pollution as AQI levels in Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, and other areas are persistently recorded in the very poor category. Due to this serious pollution situation, the Delhi government ordered schools to close and conduct online classes last week. All schools in Delhi are conducting online classes up to grade 5. Since today is Sunday, many parents are confused about the status for tomorrow. They are unsure whether Delhi schools will be open or closed on Monday, November 17, 2025. It is to be noted that most schools have sent details to parents through circulars or messages. Parents are advised to check with their child’s school for the latest status. (Representative image/PTI)

Some schools will conduct classes in hybrid mode meaning both online and offline classes will be held. Parents can choose to send their children to school or have them attend online classes to avoid exposure to outdoor air. There is no current update on how long hybrid classes will continue in Delhi schools. Some rules have been established for children attending school. All students, from grade 5 to grade 12, must wear winter uniforms. Additionally, N95 masks are mandatory to protect against Delhi’s polluted air. Parents are strongly advised to send their children to school with N95 masks. Outdoor activities in schools will remain suspended until the Delhi AQI improves. (Representative image/PTI)

Private offices have also been advised to implement work-from-home or hybrid work models to reduce traffic congestion and emissions. The restrictions also include a ban on inter-state diesel buses entering or operating in Delhi, as well as a ban on diesel generator sets, except for emergency and essential services.
