A big revelation has come to light in the investigation of the car blast that shook the capital Delhi. Intelligence agencies have strong suspicion of a terrorist attack, in which explosives were fitted in an i20 car in a suicide-style blast. 8 people were killed and 20 others were injured in this car blast that took place at 6:52 pm on November 10 at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Marg traffic signal near the Red Fort. Delhi Police has registered a case in this car blast case under sections 16 and 18 of UAPA, which relate to terrorism and punishment for it. Apart from this, Sections 3 and 4 of the Explosive Substances Act have also been added to the FIR.
The Special Cell of Delhi Police has got many important clues, which are pointing towards the fact that this could be a suicide terrorist attack. This car was registered in Gurugram North RTO, Haryana. Its number was HR 26 7624, which is registered in the name of a person named Mohammad Salman, who was detained and interrogated by the police. Salman told that he had sold the car to a person named Tariq, who is a resident of Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir. Another thing worth noting has come to light that the car in which the explosion took place was issued a challan of Rs 1723 at 12 midnight on 15 September 2025 for wrong parking in Faridabad. Tariq has been taken into custody by Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Terrorist Omar suspected to be traveling in i20 car
According to sources in Delhi Police Special Cell, the investigation so far is indicating that the car blast near the Red Fort is linked to the Faridabad Terror Module, which was busted on the night of 9 November. Intelligence agencies suspect that terrorist Dr. Omar Mohammad was traveling in the i20 car. Aaj Tak, quoting sources of Delhi Police Special Cell, had already informed that this key member of Faridabad Terror Module, Umar Mohammad, is absconding. The police will get the DNA test done on the dead person traveling in the car, after which it will be confirmed whether he was Doctor Omar or not. There were three suspects in the car at the time of the blast, investigating agencies are trying to identify them.
Shocking revelations from the timeline of i20 car
When the Special Cell of Delhi Police searched the CCTV cameras around the blast site, shocking facts came to light regarding the i20 car. This car had entered the parking lot of the Mughal era Golden Mosque located near the Red Fort at 3:19 pm on November 10 and stood there for about 3 hours. The car came out here at 6:48 pm and just 4 minutes later, at 6:52 pm, it exploded at the traffic signal of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Marg. The investigating agencies find it suspicious that the car was parked for such a long time in the mosque parking lot. They suspect that an explosive may have been planted inside the car in the mosque parking lot itself. Delhi Police’s Special Cell has released the picture just before the blast, in which the car is clearly visible going on the road near Sunehri Masjid.

The i20 car that exploded at the traffic signal of Subhash Marg near the Red Fort was purchased from a car dealer named ‘Royal Car Zone’ in Faridabad. Royal Car Zone is located in Sector-37, Faridabad and deals in used cars. Aaj Tak tried to talk to the operators of this car zone, but their mobile numbers were switched off. The intensity of the explosion in the car was so much that 6 nearby vehicles and 3 autorickshaws got burnt and street lights burst. The glass in Red Fort metro station and nearby shops were shattered. NIA, NSG and forensic teams reached the spot and collected samples. Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the Delhi car blast is being investigated from all angles. If this terrorist incident happens then its entire layers will be exposed.
