Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan is celebrating his 60th birthday today i.e. on 2nd November, due to which a series of congratulations have started on social media from fans and celebs. On the occasion of his birthday, Parmeet Sethi, while talking to Dainik Bhaskar, shared many memories related to Shahrukh. Parmeet worked with Shahrukh in the film ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ (DDLJ) and played the role of Kuljeet in the film.
“DDLJ is not just a film, it is a box of memories”: Parmeet Sethi
Talking about working with Shahrukh in ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’, Parmeet said, “Today when I look back, ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ (DDLJ) and the time spent with Shahrukh do not just seem like a film, but a box of happy memories. For me, who played the role of Kuljeet in it, it was not just a debut, but like watching the history of Indian cinema in the making. The film has retained its place even after three decades. And if anyone had the biggest role in its success, it was Shahrukh Khan.”
According to Parmeet, the idea of the final fight scene of the film was Shahrukh’s idea, although it was not in the original script. Parmeet tells, “Shah Rukh stressed to Aditya Chopra that a ‘proper fight’ was very important for the emotional ending of the story.”

Parmeet told that Shahrukh had given him courage while shooting the fight. He said, “During the fight, I was new. There was a scene where Shahrukh slides and hits my feet and I have to fall. Out of fear, I used to jump before I could touch his feet. Master ji used to say that this shot is wrong. I was very hesitant. Then Shahrukh gave me courage. He said, ‘Brother, don’t be afraid, it will happen.’ Then he suddenly slid in without warning, and I dropped in with a genuine reaction and we got that perfect shot.”
Parmeet further added, “If our confidence was 100%, his was 500%… He was not a ‘ho jayega’ actor; he worked hard on every scene. Most importantly, he was a cooperative co-artist.”
Sethi told that Shahrukh’s behavior was always to take everyone along whether it was a new artist or an experienced one.
Parmeet also said, Seriously, even today when I see Shahrukh, his same tremendous energy and dedication is clearly visible. His vision and sincerity towards his work make him a ‘Badshah’ in real life too.”
