Sardar Patel, who is also known as the “Iron Man of India,” was the first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday led the Unity Day celebrations and administered the oath of unity on the occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The prime minister also paid floral tribute at the Statue of Unity in Nandi, Gujarat, on Friday.

“I solemnly swear that I will dedicate myself to the preservation of the unity, integrity, and security of the nation. I will also make every effort to spread this message among my countrymen. I take this oath in the spirit of my country’s unity, which was made possible by the foresight and hard work of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. I also resolve to do my part to ensure the internal security of my country,” he recited.

PM Modi Witnesses Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Parade

Prime Minister Narendra Modi witnessed the ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ parade on the occasion. The Guard of Honour presented to the Prime Minister was led by Gujarat Cadre IPS Officer Simran Bhardwaj.

Gallantry Awardees Honored at Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Parade

On the occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the nation paid tribute to the spirit of unity and courage through a grand parade.

Among the participants were five Shaurya Chakra awardees from the CRPF and sixteen gallantry medal winners from the BSF, who were recognised for their extraordinary bravery.

The CRPF personnel displayed remarkable courage during anti-Naxal operations in Jharkhand and counter-terrorism missions in Jammu and Kashmir, while BSF soldiers were lauded for their heroic acts during Operation Sindoor along India’s western border.

The parade also featured impressive contingents from BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, and SSB, alongside state police forces from Assam, Tripura, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh, as well as cadets from the NCC—showcasing the nation’s collective strength, unity, and dedication to internal security.

Surya Kiran Team Dazzles The Skies At Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Parade

I The Indian Air Force’s Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT) also performed an air show during the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas parade in Ekta Nagar.

The show captivated spectators as the IAF team painted the sky in the vibrant hues of the tricolour during the parade.
