Actress Urvashi Rauetella appeared for the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for questioning in an illegal betting case. She reached the ED office on Tuesday. As per the reports, Rauetella has been summoned twice by the federal agency.

As the ED’s investigation continues into 1xBet betting app and related money laundering cases, several sportspersons, movie actors, online influencers, and celebrities have been questioned.

Last week former Indian Cricketer Yuvraj Singh was questioned by ED in New Delhi.

As per a report by PTI, ED is questioning the celebrities to get details like how they were contacted by the betting company seeking their endorsement, the nodal person(s) for contact in India, the mode of payment (cash through hawala or banking channel) and place of the payment (in India or abroad), etc.

ED had summoned Singh, former Indian cricketer Robin Uthappa and Bollywood actor Sonu Sood for questioning in connection with its probe into an alleged illegal betting app.

Uthappa had been summoned on September 22, while Singh had been called on September 23, and Sood on September 24. All three were directed to appear at ED headquarters in New Delhi.

ED is examining possible financial links and promotional activities associated with the platform named 1xBet, which has been under the scanner of multiple agencies for alleged violations of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) and other laws.

Officials stressed that the appearance of Uthappa, Singh and Sood before the ED is part of the ongoing probe, and further action will depend on the outcome of questioning and financial trail analysis.
