Three Jharkhand protesters ended their hunger strike after the state government cancelled recruitment exams conducted by an outsourced agency amid allegations of irregularities.

Three more protesters have ended their hunger strike over irregularities in Jharkhand recruitment exams, with all six protesters now having called off their fast.
Three protesters had already ended their hunger strike earlier, while the remaining three have now also broken their fast following the state government’s decision to cancel the recruitment examinations conducted by an outsourced agency.
Protesters Call Off Fast
Mahto, who had been on hunger strike for 16 days, ended his fast around Monday midnight. Two other protesters, Prem Nayak and Umme Habiba, also called off their hunger strike, while three others also ended their hunger strike.
The agitation has been underway at Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium since July 25, with protesters demanding reforms and action over alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations.
Govt Cancels Exams
The state government announced the cancellation of the JSSC-Combined Graduate Level examination along with all recruitment tests conducted by outsourced agency TSR Data Processing Pvt Ltd (TDPL) and the results published by it.
The government also announced the formation of an exam reforms committee headed by senior IAS officer Amitabh Kaushal to recommend measures to strengthen the recruitment examination process.
The protesters are expected to decide on the future of the wider agitation following the government’s announcement.
