Set in 1990s Delhi, the play ‘Woh Subah Humin Se Aayegi’ presents the issues of Civil Services (UPSC) preparation, love and social justice on stage. Recently this play was presented in Delhi. Earlier the play had also been staged in Mumbai.
In this play by writer Dinesh Gautam, actor Imran Zahid has played the role of the main character Ajay, while Sakshi Singh has played the role of Kavita. Delhi Police DCP Vipul Anekant, who came to watch the play, said that he saw his student life in this performance.
This drama brings out not only the success but also the struggle of the unsuccessful candidates who do not reach the final list.
1990s Delhi and UPSC preparation The story of the play revolves around Ajay, a young man from an ordinary socio-economic background, who comes to Delhi with the dream of joining the civil services. This is the time when there were no smartphones and social media and books, newspapers and letters were the main sources of information.
Ajay has the ability to work hard, but slowly he realizes that not everyone in the competition started from the same place. Amidst this struggle, his relationship with Kavita gives the story an emotional basis.
Difference between starting line and finishing line A big social question has been raised in the play ‘Starting Line and Finishing Line’. All the candidates have the same goal in the examination, but some have better resources, financial security and guidance, while others have to fight many additional battles for these things.
Writer Dinesh Gautam says that instead of passing judgment like a political speech, this play puts a human situation in front of the audience, so that people can understand what real equality is.
The pain of unsuccessful candidates also got voice Actor Imran Zahid, who plays the character of Ajay, says that Ajay is not just a fictional character, but he is the face of millions of youth who leave their homes with dreams.
He said that we often hear the stories of only successful people, but no one tells the story of thousands of youth who spend years of their lives in preparation and are not able to reach the final list. The play also tries to give place to those unheard expectations on the stage.
DCP Vipul Anekant said- saw myself in Ajay DCP Vipul Anekant, who came to see the presentation of the play in Delhi, described it as a very strong and sensitive staging. He said that the play raises ideas like social inequality and equal opportunity through the difficult journey of a candidate coming from a rural and deprived background.
In his reaction after the presentation, the DCP said, “I saw myself in Ajay.” He said that Ajay’s character connects with every person who has struggled in his life.
