Commercial cylinder has become costlier by Rs 994 today i.e. from May 1. It is available in Delhi for Rs 3071.50. The price of 5 kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) cylinder has been increased by Rs 261. 2. GST collection ₹2.42 lakh crore, highest till date: ₹2.23 lakh crore was collected in April last year; Import earnings increased by 25.8%
India’s gross GST collection set a new record of ₹2.42 lakh crore in the month of April. According to government data, it has registered an increase of 8.7% compared to the same month of the last financial year. Earlier, the highest collection was ₹2.23 lakh crore in April 2025.
Generally, tax collection is strong in the month of April every year. The main reason for this is that at the end of the financial year in March, companies reconcile their accounts for the entire year. Due to this, the outstanding tax is paid in April.

Along with this, EPFO has announced to launch a new portal named ‘e-Praapti’ for those whose old PF accounts are closed or lying in-active. With the help of this portal, even people without UAN number will be able to withdraw their stuck money.
