FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India) is the food safety regulatory body of India. It was created under the Food Safety Act 2006.
The government has issued around 150 notices in recent months against several major food brands and retail chains for not following the rules.
India’s food safety regulatory body FSSAI has given these notices for non-compliance of rules related to misleading advertisements, false claims and labels.
Companies to which notices have been issued. They include big companies like Nestle India, PepsiCo, Coca-Cola India.

12 notices to Amazon-Flipkart, five licenses of Domino’s suspended
FSSAI has sent 12 notices to e-commerce companies Amazon and Flipkart. The regulator said that the license of an Amazon warehouse has also been cancelled.
More than 30 notices have been issued to food service institutions like KFC, McDonald’s, Pizza Hut, Domino’s and Costa Coffee. Five Domino’s licenses have been suspended.
