Then I suddenly remembered that the boy whose heart was transplanted, died in the accident while riding a bike. He was also very fond of bikes. Maybe because of his heart, I am fond of bikes.

Today, September 29 is World Heart Day. On this occasion, Divya Bhaskar had a special conversation with the patients of heart transplant. In this conversation, he learned about his nature, food and changes in habits. The team also spoke to the well-known heart transplant specialist of Gujarat, Dr. Dhiren Shah and tried to understand the reasons behind these changes in the patients.

Heart transplant took place at the age of 38 Narharbhi Patel, who lives in Ahmedabad, said- I had a heart problem in 2018. My heart was getting bigger. I was also given medicines, but was not benefiting. In 2018 itself, I was asked to get a heart transplant, but it was not possible due to some complications at that time. Then a CRT (cardiac resinking therapy) device was installed in my heart.

In 2022, when the device’s battery was over, it was again transplanted and then my health began to improve slightly. In 2023, doctors said that now heart transplant is the only solution. I registered and got a heart transplant in January 2024. At that time I was 38 years old.

I got a 24 -year -old boy’s heart Narharibhai says- I was transplanted for a 24-year-old boy from Surat, who was originally from Nepal. I found a heart that is 14 years younger than my age. After the transplant, it looks like this is my second birth.

Chinese liked to eat food Narharibhai says about physical changes- Talking about eating, first I did not like to eat Chinese. I never used to go out to eat Chinese food. However, now I am very much liked eating Chinese. Now Chinese food is definitely prepared at my house once a week.

Anger comes very quickly Regarding the change in my nature, Narharbhai says- Earlier I was of a very calm nature. There was no quarrel with anyone. Now wife and friends always talk about my nature that you get angry quickly. My perspective of seeing life has completely changed.

Earlier I used to pay more attention to career money, house and vehicles. Now I think all this is just for showing. If we have the money worth living, then there is no need to think much. The biggest capital is to give time to friends and family.

Sakshtaben Jain, who lives in Ahmedabad, had a heart pumping problem during pregnancy and had a heart transplant in 2020.

Heart problem occurred during delivery Sakshitaben says- My heart was pumping only 10-15%. So I was very less likely to escape. For this reason, heart transplant was suggested. At that time it was not possible due to corona. Then there was a heart transplant on July 10, 2020. Then I was 35 years old.

24 -year -old boy got a heart Sakshitaben says- I have got the heart of 24-year-old Maharish Patel of Surat. He died in an accident. I still meet his parents. They treat me just like a daughter. All his relatives know me.

I talk to them regularly. I especially call him on Maharish’s birthday. Also, when they organize Garba on Janmashtami, Krishna Festival and Navratri, they always call me with family.

Sakshitaben says about the changes in herself- I am getting angry after surgery. Earlier I did not answer anyone quickly. Now I get angry quickly. At first I did not like Gujarati food and sweets, but now I like it very much.

I came to know that Maharish loved all this. Earlier I used to eat more junk food, but not now. Apart from this, now I have started walking more. Earlier I used to get up early, but now I keep sleeping for a long time.

Maharish was fond of sandwiches and sweets Maharish Patel’s father Harshadbhai said- Whenever Maharishi used to go out with friends, Sandwich and Pizza used to eat a lot. Not only this, Maharish loved Gujarati food and sweets. His mind was very fast. He was also an angry nature. He also loved shopping. He used to spend fierce money.

The role of Jamnagar, a heart transplant, was done when she was just 13 years old. Father Amit Kumar and Bhumika talked about the changes after the heart transplant.

Talking about his daughter’s problem, Amit said- Mary Ladli started having heart problems from the age of seven. Later it is discovered that his heart was not pumping properly. It was expected that the medicine would get relief. Medicines were introduced from 2015. He took regular medicines for two years, some improved, but finally there was talk of heart transplant.

We used to come to Ahmedabad from Jamnagar regularly for six-seven years for treatment. Sometimes we had to come twice a week. In January 2022, I met Dr. Dhiren Shah and Dr. Chintan, so they said that the daughter would have to be transplanted. On March 15, 2022, the role of role took place. She was 13 years old at that time.

A big understanding came at a young age Today’s 17 -year -old girl, who was just 13 years old at that time. Now she thinks like a very mature person. Will Power says about Strong- I don’t think much. What to happen will remain. You have no choice or you can choose anything.

Regarding the change in the role after surgery, the father says- the role of the biggest change after surgery says- I did not like bitter gourd at all. Now bitter gourd is my favorite vegetable.

Heart Donor’s family did not meet Regarding the heart of Bhumika, the father said- the donor was a 21-year-old Rajasthani youth. He died in a road accident. However, we could not meet that family till date. Nor did that family ever try to contact us.

The Srishti, who hails from Amreli, had a heart transplant in December 2020, when she was 16 years old. Srishti says about the biggest change in life after surgery- I have started regular exercise, meditation and good food. Now they have become a part of my life. Apart from this, my perspective of seeing life has also changed.

His heart was donated after the 42 -year -old Ashreitaben residing in Surat. I was very sad when I met Ashriti’s husband. I told him- Uncle, do not take tension at all. I am sitting in the heart of Ashrita Aunty in my heart. They are alive, just believe this.

I am very stubborn Regarding physical change, Srishti says- I have become very stubborn after the transplant. Apart from this, earlier I used to be confident and won only for myself, but now I try to help everyone.

After this, Bhaskar’s team spoke to Dr. Dhiren Shah, a well-known heart transplant doctor of Ahmedabad about the changes in the patients.

Research is going on for change Dr. Shah further says- The choice of a person with heart transplant starts changing, it is not necessary to be with everyone. Research is still going on about whether it really happens or not. Some time ago a research paper was published on cell memory. Every cell of the body has a memory.

Similarly, heart cells also have a memory and if it is stored in chemical form and that memory is released, there is a possibility of some changes. The patients never told me about this, but their relatives told me. One or two of my patients did not like rice before, but now like it. At first they were irritable and now they are completely calm.

Many transplant patients suffering from depression Dr. Dhiren Shah said- There is a possibility of change in nature and behavior and psychological reasons are responsible for this. It may be that a patient is suffering from heart disease for about five years and then he gets a new heart and after surgery he remained alone in the same room for the first three months. Then the next six months he had to stay inside the house. This makes the patient’s nature irritable.
