Honey Singh was seen completely absorbed in the devotion of Bholenath in the temple premises. With a calm mind, simplicity and devotion he took blessings from Lord Shiva. The Shivlinga is from the time of Satyayuga. The priest of the temple told that there is a Shivlinga from the time of Satyayuga. This is the same place from where Bholenath had created Veerbhadra from his hair and had destroyed King Daksh’s yagya while sitting here. Lord Shankar drank the poison that came out of the churning of the ocean at this very place. After drinking poison, Bholenath had taken rest from here in Neelkanth. It is said that when Bholenath drank the poison extracted from the churning of the ocean, this mountain and the water of Ganga turned blue. That is why even today this mountain is known as Neel Parvat and Ganga as Neel Ganga. There is a description in Skanda Purana and Shiv Purana. The priest told that this place has been described in detail in Skanda Purana and Shiv Purana. It also has the importance of fulfilling the wishes of all the devotees who come to this temple. The priest said that by offering a pot of Ganga water in the temple, one gets pilgrimage results and by anointing it with milk on the full moon day, one gets special results. It is noteworthy that Honey Singh has visited Haridwar many times before. Whenever he comes to Dharmanagari, he does not forget to reach Nileshwar Mahadev Temple and take blessings of Bholenath.
