Recently, a screening of the film was held in Mumbai, when a Muslim woman became emotional after watching the film and held the hand of the actress and thanked her for showing such a story on screen.

After the screening, the woman approached the starcast of the film. During this, he held Yami’s hand and said – I felt very good watching the film, everyone should get this right. Same thing happened with me too.

Seeing the woman crying, Yami Gautam boosted her courage and said – You have courage, we will do whatever we can. Sometimes good films lead to something good in the society. It will be good. On this the woman said, this is for me too. I can also fight like this. I got a lot of courage.

After this the woman hugged actress Yami Gautam. During this, Emraan Hashmi was also seen standing near the woman.

The film is based on the Haq Shahbano case, which sparked a national debate in the 1970s demanding rights for Muslim women. Before the release of the film, Shah Bano’s daughter Siddika has filed a petition in the Indore High Court demanding to stop the release of the film and also sent a legal notice to the makers of the film.

Shah Bano’s daughter Siddika Begum Khan’s lawyer Tausif Warsi said in the petition that the film will hurt the sentiments of the Muslim community as the film has presented a negative image of Sharia law. It has also been said in the petition that the makers did not take any permission from Shah Bano’s legal heir before making the film on her.

Shah Bano’s daughter’s petition was heard on 6 November. During the hearing, the makers argued that the film Haq was not a biopic but a fictional adaptation based on the English book “Bano: Bharat Ki Beti”.

During the hearing held in Indore High Court, the bench, citing a decision of the Supreme Court, said that a person’s right to privacy and reputation ends with his death. They cannot inherit them.

In his judgment on Thursday, Justice Prannoy Verma said- ‘When a person ceases to be alive, his right to privacy and reputation also ends.
