Swarnjit Singh Khasla said that he wants to take Norwich to the heights of development and wants Punjabi brothers to also contribute in this. There are many opportunities in education in Norwich, including construction work. In the education sector here, he is giving free education to the children, but there are still many children who are deprived of education. New schools will have to be opened for them. Swarnjit said that when he came to Jalandhar, he saw the bad condition of development here. That’s why did community work here. The people here welcomed him and gave him a lot of love.

Punjabis should come here and work hard so that a new Punjab can be established here like Canada and Australia. Currently only 10 families from Punjab live here. Despite Punjab having so few families, Gurupurva, Diwali and other festivals of India are celebrated here. Swarnjit said that there is a lot of potential in this city. There is a need for people doing many types of work here. Now the command here will also be in the hands of a Punjabi, hence the people of Punjab should come here and establish a new Punjab.

In the mayor’s election, he got 2458 votes while opposition candidate Tracy Gold got 2250 votes. After Swarnjit’s victory, various organizations reached his house and congratulated his family. Khasla’s paternal grandfather, Inderpal Singh Khalsa, was a member of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee. Apart from this, he was also a member of Shiromani Gurdwara Management Committee and Shiromani Akali Dal.
Studied engineering from Deviate Jalandhar Swarnjit Singh Khasla completed his primary education from Jalandhar itself. He went to America in 2007 on a study visa. Did Masters in Computer Science from there. Before this, Swarnjeet completed his engineering degree from DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology, Jalandhar. In 2010, Khasa started living in Norwich. Here Swarnjit Singh started working in the construction field. After this he entered politics and became councilor from Norwich twice.
