The stock market is witnessing a decline today i.e. on 18th July. The Sensex is trading at the level of 80,500 with a decline of more than 200 points. Nifty has also declined by more than 50 points. It is trading at the level of 24,550.
Out of the 30 Sensex stocks, 18 are seeing a decline and 12 are seeing a rise. Today, banking and metal stocks have seen a big decline. Earlier on Tuesday, the market had made an all-time high. Yesterday, i.e. on Wednesday, the market was closed on account of Muharram holiday.

Japan’s stock market fell 2%
- Mixed trading is being seen in Asian markets. Japan’s Nikkei index has fallen by 1.99% and China’s Shanghai Composite has fallen by 0.41%. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng has risen by 0.05%.
- On Wednesday, the US market witnessed a rise. The Dow Jones closed at 41,198, up 243 (0.59%) points. Whereas the NASDAQ closed at 17,996, up 512 (2.77%) points.
Sunstar Limited’s IPO will open tomorrow
Sunstar Limited’s Initial Public Offer i.e. IPO will open on July 19. Investors will be able to bid for this issue till July 23. The company’s shares will be listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) on July 26.

The market had made an all-time high on Tuesday
Earlier on Tuesday, July 16, the market had made an all-time high. During trading, the Sensex made a high of 80,898 and the Nifty made a high of 24,661. After this, the market came down a bit and the Sensex closed at 80,716 with a gain of 51 points. Nifty also saw a gain of 26 points. It closed at the level of 24,613. Yesterday, i.e. Wednesday, the stock market was closed today due to Muharram holiday.
