Riya Chakraborty has got a big relief from the Bombay High Court. The court has directed the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) to return the passport of the actress. The court’s decision is a major relief for Riya, who was arrested in the drugs case in 2020 after the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput and was granted bail next month. With the condition that he submit his passport to NCB.
In his new application filed through advocate Ayaz Khan, he argued that the condition delayed work and many projects have been missed. Khan said that Riya followed all the conditions of bail and never violated court orders. He insisted that he often has to go abroad for shooting, audition and meeting due to his profession.

The NCB opposed the petition through Advocate SK Halwasia and argued that he should not get special facilities due to celebrities and warned that there could be a danger of their absconding.
However, Justice Neela Gokhale said that other accused in the case were also given a similar discount and said that Chakraborty had supported the trial. She returned after every foreign trip and never violated the conditions of bail.
The court said that there is “no reason to doubt” on their availability until the end of the trial. Accepting his petition, the bench directed that Chakravarti would have to be present on all hearing date until he is exempted by the lower court. Before traveling abroad, he will have to provide his entire travel details, hotels and flight details to the prosecution agency at least four days in advance. You have to share your contact number, keep your phone running and inform the authorities on returning.

Riya Chakraborty was released from Mumbai’s Bhaiyakhala jail after getting bail from the Bombay High Court on October 7, 2020.
Recently, while talking to NDTV, Riya had said on the Sushant Singh Rajput case- ‘People said that he did not go because of you. I always knew that I had done nothing. But when I got a clean chit, I was still not happy. I was just happy for my parents and their respect. But, now we are no longer a carefree family, it cannot come back. That moment completely changed to all of us, for our whole life. ‘

Riya-Sushant met at Yash Raj Films Studio in 2013
Riya further said- ‘You realize everything, what did you have, when you were thinking that there is nothing. Because nothing is found there. You cannot take your parents lightly because they keep asking you again and again whether you ate food or not. There is no one to take care of you in jail. But, I missed my family the most. ‘
