The makers have released the trailer of Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia’s upcoming fantasy film ‘Vvan’. The 2 minute 44 second trailer tells the story of a mysterious and forbidden forest, where faith and folklore meet.
In the film, Siddharth plays the role of an atheist who is seen battling the forces and ghosts within the forest. This film, directed by ‘Panchayat’ web series director Deepak Kumar Mishra, will be released in theaters on September 25.
The story begins with the holidays of Chhath Puja.
The beginning of the trailer shows a conversation between the characters of Tamannaah Bhatia and Sidharth Malhotra. Tamanna’s character talks about going to the forest during Chhath Puja holidays, while Siddharth’s character is seen making excuses. Tamanna believes that the goddess herself has called her.
After this, many unimaginable incidents start happening in the story. There is an ancient temple of ‘Van Devi’ here. Old folk tales come alive again in this temple.
‘Bhuttaka’ powers and the rule of restriction after sunset
The biggest rule of this mysterious world of the film is “Entering the forest after sunset is prohibited”. Within the forest there live dark and terrifying powers called ‘Bhuttaka’, which are considered more dangerous than the silence of the night.
According to popular belief, if a person steps into this forest at night, he will never be able to return alive. Despite these dangers, Siddharth’s character gets drawn towards this forest.
Shooting took place on real locations, based on folklore
To give a feeling of fear and authenticity in the film, the makers have shot in real forests. After the success of films based on folklore like ‘Tumbbad’, ‘Bhramayugam’ and ‘Kantara’, the audience is liking this kind of content a lot.
Made under the banner of Balaji Telefilms, this film has been produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor. Apart from Siddharth and Tamanna, the film’s star cast includes actors like Manish Paul, Shweta Tiwari, Sunil Grover and Anoop Soni in lead roles.
Deepak Mishra’s entry in new style after ‘Panchayat’
Director Deepak Kumar Mishra was till now known for stories based on grassroots and rural settings like ‘Panchayat’. Through this film, he is entering the world of fantasy, action and folk horror for the first time. A synergy of mythology, horror and action can be seen in the trailer. The makers have kept the suspense intact for the audience by not revealing all the secrets of the story in the trailer.
