Last tribute was paid to TV show Indian Idol winner and actor Prashant Tamang on Monday in Chowrasta city of Darjeeling, West Bengal. During this time, his wife Martha and daughter Parthiv looked emotional near the body. The singer’s wife was seen crying and holding her 3-year-old daughter.

The mortal remains of Prashant Tamang were brought from Delhi to Siliguri’s Bagdogra Airport on Monday. Family members, friends and a large number of fans were present there. After this the body was taken to Darjeeling for cremation. A huge crowd gathered on the way to pay homage to him.

Prashant died due to cardiac arrest

43-year-old Prashant Tamang died of cardiac arrest on Sunday at his home in Janakpuri, Delhi.

According to PTI, the singer-actor was taken to a hospital in Dwarka, Delhi after suffering a cardiac arrest, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Prashant became famous by winning the TV show Indian Idol Season 3. He was also seen in the second part of the web series Patallok. Apart from this, Prashant will also be seen in Salman Khan’s film Battle of Galwan, which will be released in theaters on April 17.

Prashant was seen in the role of Daniel in the second part of Patallok.

Started acting with the film Gorkha Paltan

After winning Indian Idol, Prashant Tamang released his first album Thanks. He also performed many live shows abroad.

Apart from being a singer, Prashant was also an actor. In 2010, he started acting with the Nepali film Gorkha Paltan. After this he was seen in many films like Angalo Yo Maya Ko, Kin Maya Ma, Nishani and Ladain.

Prashant did not have any serious illness According to The Kathmandu Post report, Prashant did not have any serious illness before his death. It was told that her mother-in-law was the first to know about her death. After this he told his friend Amit Paul in Indian Idol. Amit again shared this news on social media.

Prashant was also in Kolkata Police

Prashant studied at St. Robert’s School, Darjeeling. After the death of his father in an accident, he had to leave his studies and he joined Kolkata Police as a constable in place of his father. While in Kolkata Police, he used to sing for the police orchestra.

He participated in season 3 of the singing show Indian Idol in 2007. After reaching the show, Prashant became very popular in West Bengal, Sikkim and Darjeeling. Being a constable in Kolkata Police, the officers of the department also supported him.

Prashant received a record more than 700 lakh (70 million) votes in the grand finale, which was a huge achievement at that time. On winning the show, he received Rs 1 crore and a Maruti Suzuki SX4 car as a reward.

Prashant got married in 2011

Prashant’s daughter Ariya Tamang was born in July 2022.

Prashant was married to Geeta Thapa alias Martha Ally. The two met on an international flight when Prashant was traveling for a music performance. Geeta was a former flight attendant by profession. The two got married in a private ceremony in Nagaland on 16 February 2011. Both have a daughter, Ariya Tamang.
