Police sources said that Satara In the female doctor suicide case, the police has arrested the main accused Prashant Bankar from a friend’s farmhouse in Pune at 4 am today. Now he is being brought to Phaltan city police station, from where the police will get the accused medically examined and then interrogate him. After this, the accused will be presented in Phaltan Court at 12.30 noon, where the police will demand the custody of the accused, so that he can be interrogated.

One accused absconding

Sources said that the police has received information about Pandharpur, the location of PSI Badne, the second absconding accused in the case. Police suspect that he is going from Pandharpur to his village Beed. At the same time, on the information about his hiding in Pandharpur, the police had raided a Dharamshala.

On the basis of the suicide note, Satara Police had registered a case of rape and abetment of suicide against PSI Gopal Badne and Prashant Bankar, after which Prashant was arrested on Friday, while PSI Badne is still absconding.

According to police sources, the doctor was under mental stress for some time. Prashant’s repeated threats and the involvement of policemen forced him to commit suicide.

Meanwhile, the family members of the female doctor have alleged that there was political and police pressure on her to prepare a false post-mortem report. A family member said, ‘There was a lot of police and political pressure on him for preparing the wrong post-mortem report. He had tried to complain about it. He should get justice.

His cousin told ANI, ‘Last year there was a lot of police and political pressure on him. Pressure was being put on him to make a false post-mortem report. He had written a letter to the DCP to complain, but he did nothing.

In fact, the police had recovered the body of a female doctor from a hotel room on Thursday night. The deceased was identified as a 28-year-old female doctor working in a government hospital in Phaltan. Police also found a suicide note written on the doctor’s hand. In his suicide note, the doctor accused PSI Gopal Badane of raping him several times in five months and accused Prashant Bankar of mentally torturing him.

The female doctor had revealed in her suicide note that Prashant Bankar not only mentally abused her but also threatened her several times to vacate the room. Apart from this, the doctor had accused some policemen of rape. Investigation has revealed that Prashant had a close relationship with these policemen and together they were pressurizing the doctor.
