Sri Lankan Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya has talked about building bridges between the countries instead of walls. Addressing the students at Hindu College of Delhi University, he said

Always build bridges, not walls, between homes, offices and countries.

On the other hand, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has written a letter to PM Modi, demanding to take back Katchatheevu island from Sri Lanka and take action regarding the problems of fishermen.
Stalin said in the letter that Katchatheevu island was historically a part of India, but in 1974 it was handed over to Sri Lanka without the permission and procedure of the state government. Since then, fishermen of Tamil Nadu are facing continuous difficulties and harassment in fishing.

Sri Lankan PM has come to Delhi this morning on a three-day visit. This is his first visit to India after becoming PM.

PM Harini Amarasuriya has been a student of Hindu College of Delhi University. He studied here from 1991 to 1994. College Principal Anju Srivastava welcomed the Sri Lankan PM. Faculty members, students and alumni were all present to welcome him.

PM Harini also took a group photo with the students and teachers of Hindu College.
PM Amarasuriya praised India’s digital governance
Prime Minister Amarasuriya also praised India’s progress in digital governance. He called it an example for other countries. He said,
India is indeed a great example of how digitalization can make governments more accountable and transparent.

He said that Sri Lanka is paying attention to India’s model and seeing how similar initiatives can be implemented there.
