Earlier, Tharoor had said that he was hopeful that the central government would fulfill its promises made to Kerala, including the establishment of AIIMS, in the Union Budget. He stressed the need to tackle coastal erosion in Kerala on a “war footing”.
Tharoor asked that if China losing even an inch of land is discussed as a matter of “war” and “threats to national security”, then why, as he claimed, the loss of land along the coastline is not given the same attention.
