At least 105 Indian tourists are among 291 foreign nationals reported missing after the flash flood hit Nepal’s Rasuwa area on Wednesday, according to the Nepal Tourism Board.

Scary CCTV visuals from the Nepal-China border have captured the moment a powerful flash flood swept through infrastructure at Gyirong Port in Tibet, China, directly opposite Nepal’s Rasuwa district.
The footage from the immigration office on the Chinese side of the Rasuwagadhi border crossing shows a sudden surge of floodwater pouring out of the building and rapidly inundating the area outside.
‘Wall Of Water’ Sweeps Through Area
The floodwater suddenly gushed through the entrance and onto the road, turning into a powerful torrent that swept through the surrounding area.
As the wave of water began moving through the area, people could be seen rushing to safety. The flash flood hit the Chinese side first before causing massive destruction in Nepal’s Rasuwa area.
The visuals show the scale and force of the flooding, with infrastructure being overwhelmed by the sudden flow of water.
The scenes from Rasuwa have been described as horrific, with the scale of destruction appearing almost unreal.
291 Foreign Nationals Reported Missing
At least 105 Indian tourists are among 291 foreign nationals reported missing after the flash flood hit Nepal’s Rasuwa area on Wednesday, according to the Nepal Tourism Board.
The missing foreign nationals include three from the United States, 17 from Malaysia, 12 from the United Kingdom, four from South Africa, one from Australia and one from the Netherlands.
The nationalities of another 103 people are yet to be confirmed.
Eight Killed, Hydropower Projects Damaged
A sudden and massive flood swept through two central Nepal districts bordering Tibet, killing eight people and causing extensive destruction to settlements along the river.
At least a dozen hydropower projects were also damaged in the flooding.
The flood surged through the Bhote Koshi River at around 9 am local time from the Tibet side, officials said. The flooding affected Rasuwa and Dhading districts, both of which border Tibet, as well as Nuwakot district, which lies southwest of Kathmandu.
The scale of the flooding has raised concerns over the need for better early warning systems for flash floods across the Himalayan belt.
The CCTV footage from the Chinese side provides a view of the sudden arrival of the floodwater before the devastation spread into Nepal.
The flooding has left several foreign nationals missing, including more than 100 Indians, while communities and infrastructure in the affected districts have suffered extensive damage.
