Trump said- ‘Sarah is no longer with us and her parents are in great grief at this time. Beckstrom was a talented National Guard. Sara was admitted to the Military Police Unit in June 2023.

Sara was shot in the chest and head by an Afghan attacker yesterday near the Farragut West metro station. After this he fired at Andrew. At the same time, the third guard present nearby fired four bullets, after which the attacker was controlled.

Andrew Wolfe’s treatment continues

According to media reports, Andrew Wolfe is undergoing treatment in a critical condition. Wolfe joined the Air National Guard in February 2019. He has also received many medals during his service.

Trump said that he learned about the attack just when he was about to make a video call to American troops on the occasion of Thanksgiving.

The accused is a resident of Afghanistan

According to FBI officials, the suspect involved in the attack has been identified as 29-year-old Rahmanullah Lakanwal. He came to America from Afghanistan in August 2021. He applied for refugee status in 2024 and was approved in April 2025.

According to NBC News, a relative of Lakanwal said that he grew up in Khost province of Afghanistan. He came to America four years ago and lived with his wife and five children in Bellingham, Washington.

The relative said that Lakanwala had served in the Afghan Army for 10 years before coming to America and during this time he had also conducted operations with American Special Forces.

According to the relative, Lakanwal was posted at a base in Kandahar for some time during his military service. During this time he helped American soldiers.

According to reports, Lakanwal came to America under the Operation Allies Welcome program. He was settled in Bellingham, Washington. Police say that Lakanwal carried out this attack alone and his motive is not clear yet.

NBC and the Washington Post say the FBI is investigating the case as a terrorist attack. Trump criticized former President Joe Biden, saying the suspect was brought to the US during the Biden administration.

America stopped the immigration process of Afghan citizens

America had immediately stopped all the processes related to immigration of Afghan citizens yesterday. The US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) told X that all immigration requests from Afghan citizens have now been put on hold indefinitely.

The agency said the security-related testing and vetting system will be reviewed again. Until this review is completed, no Afghan citizen will be able to proceed with the immigration process.

USCIS clearly said in its statement that the safety of the American people is the biggest priority, hence it was necessary to take this step.
