ED has arrested Pawan Nanda and Soumya Singh, founders of online gaming platform Winzo, on charges of money laundering. The total amount available with Vinzo is Rs 505 crore. Value of bonds, fixed deposits and mutual funds has been frozen under PMLA.

According to the ED, the company had withheld gamers’ money worth Rs 43 crore, which was to be returned to the gamers after the ban on Real Money Gaming (RMG) in the country.

Both were produced in the local court of Bengaluru, from where they were given one day ED custody. The date of the next hearing has not been revealed.
