Security has been increased after the firing incident near the White House.
The sounds of gunshots were heard near the White House in Washington, USA on Saturday. US President Donald Trump was present inside the White House at the time of the incident. At present there is no news of anyone being injured.
According to news agency AP, the journalists present in the White House suddenly heard the sounds of several gunshots. Immediately after this, the Secret Service instructed the journalists to stay inside the press briefing room and did not allow anyone to go out.
After the incident, FBI, Secret Service and other security agencies surrounded the area and started investigation. The North Lawn of the White House Complex has been evacuated. The Secret Service shot a man near the White House. During this time a passerby was also shot. The condition of both the people is said to be serious.
FBI Director Kash Patel said in a social media post that security agencies are responding to reports of firing. Updates will be given as information becomes available.
Bullets fired one block away from the White House
The Secret Service said on social media platform X that they had received a report of shots fired in the area of 17th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue NW. This area is about a block away from the White House. The agency said that the security personnel present on the spot are busy verifying the information.
No official statement was immediately issued by Washington’s Metropolitan Police Department on the incident. At present the security agencies are investigating the entire matter.

According to news agency AP, the attacker had fired outside the ballroom of the hotel. Trump and guests were inside the ballroom. Trump addressed the media about an hour and a half after the attack.
He said- America’s Constitution was attacked. The Secret Service saved my life. The security personnel acted bravely. The officer who was shot is safe. He wore a bulletproof jacket. The attacker had a powerful gun.
Eyewitness said- 7 rounds were fired, guests hid under the table.
As soon as the firing took place during the correspondent dinner, there was chaos at the venue. All the guests present at the program were talking among themselves and having dinner. But as soon as they heard the sound of firing, the guests attending the program hid under the chairs and tables.
Trump was shot before the elections in 2024
On July 13, 2024, Trump was fatally attacked during an election rally in Pennsylvania. While addressing a campaign rally in the city of Butler, an attacker opened fire with an assault rifle from a distance of 400 feet, with one bullet touching the upper part of Trump’s right ear.
After the shooting, Secret Service agents immediately surrounded Trump and took him out safely. Trump was taken to the hospital, from where he was soon released.
The security personnel immediately killed the attacker. In this incident, one person attending the rally died and two others were seriously injured. Trump, reacting to this incident, had said, ‘God saved me.’
