Three days after two earthquakes that hit the South American country Venezuela on June 25, the death toll has increased to 920. Heavy machines, firefighters and emergency teams are continuously reaching the affected areas for rescue. The US has also decided to give temporary relaxation in some economic sanctions imposed on Venezuela for earthquake relief work.
India also sent relief material
India has launched ‘Operation Amistad’ to help earthquake-hit Venezuela. Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar said that two C-17 aircraft of the Indian Air Force have left for Venezuela carrying the field hospital unit of the Indian Army and more than 35 tons of relief material.
He said that India stands with Venezuela in this difficult time and is committed to provide all possible assistance in relief and rescue operations.
