Ousmane Dembele etched his name into France’s FIFA World Cup history with a stunning first-half hat-trick against Norway on Friday. The forward completed his treble inside 32 minutes, setting the record for the fastest World Cup hat-trick by a French player.
Dembele opened the scoring in the seventh minute, before adding a second in the 20th minute. Norway briefly threatened a response through Thelo Aasgaard, but Dembele struck again in the 32nd minute to complete his hat-trick.
Dembele’s feat also places him among the quickest hat-trick scorers in FIFA World Cup history, with only a handful of players having completed a treble earlier from kickoff.
