No information has been received yet about the eight crown jewels stolen from the world-famous Louvre Museum in Paris on Sunday. Paris Prosecutor Laure Becquo said on Wednesday that the value of the stolen jewelery is around Rs 895 crore. These include a royal sapphire necklace, a royal emerald necklace and matching earrings, and a tiara belonging to Empress Eugenie, wife of Napoleon III.
Bekkuo said that even if the thieves broke these pieces and melted them, it would not be possible to sell the jewelry for such a huge amount. On the other hand, French Home Minister Laurent Nunez, Culture Minister Rashida Dati and Justice Minister Gerald Darmanin also held a meeting in the museum.

America bans two big oil companies of Russia
The US on Wednesday imposed sanctions on Russia’s two largest oil companies, Rosneft and Lukoil. Its purpose is to stop the funding Russia is getting for the war.
The US Treasury Department said that Russia is not serious about stopping the war, hence these sanctions have been imposed. With this decision, all assets and interests of these companies falling under US jurisdiction have been effectively blocked.
Rosneft is a state-owned company that specializes in the exploration, refining, and global sales of oil, while Lukoil is a privately owned multinational company that engages in exploration, refining, marketing, and distribution of oil and gas both in Russia and abroad.
The restrictions also apply to all subsidiaries of these two companies having direct or indirect stake of 50 per cent or more.
