The Pakistani Army carried out air strikes in Kunar, Khost and Paktika provinces of Afghanistan late on Tuesday night. According to the Taliban government, 13 civilians, including 11 children, were killed in the attacks, while 14 women were injured. Taliban government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said Pakistan violated Afghanistan’s airspace and targeted residential areas. The attacks were carried out entirely on civilian areas. Mujahid said that the dead included 11 children, a woman and an elderly person. He also released pictures of the aftermath of the attack. According to the Taliban government, hundreds of people have lost their lives in Pakistan’s military operations in the last one year. In March, an attack on a rehabilitation center in Kabul claimed the lives of 269 people. Islamabad has long alleged that the Taliban government supports organizations like Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA). However, the Taliban has been rejecting these allegations. Other big news related to international affairs… Pilot kept flying planes in Canada for 17 years on fake license; Geoffrey Wall, former pilot of Canadian airline Air Canada, accused of putting the lives of thousands of passengers in danger, has been accused of flying commercial flights for 17 years with the help of a fake license. Deputy Chief Nick Milinovich said the accused endangered the safety of thousands of passengers. According to police, Wall has been charged with fraud of more than $5,000, public mischief, using fake documents and possessing fake certificates. Wall, 59, was arrested on June 1. This matter came to light after a Transport Canada investigation found irregularities in the documents. It is alleged that Wall started his aviation career in 1998 and achieved the post of pilot-in-command i.e. captain in 2009 on the basis of fake credentials. After this he continued flying carrying thousands of passengers for years. The case came to light when Transport Canada discovered deficiencies in its documentation during a routine operational check at Pearson Airport last year. After this, a detailed investigation named ‘Project Icarus’ was started. Now the investigating agencies are finding out how the accused prepared fake documents and how he remained unnoticed by the system for so long.
