Eight convicts have been sentenced in the July 2025 attack on the Prairieland ICE Detention Center in Texas, USA. Benjamin Hanil Song, who shot the alleged leader and police officer, was sentenced to 100 years in prison, while the other accused were given imprisonment ranging from 30 to 70 years.
According to the US Department of Justice (DOJ), the culprits were found guilty of rioting, use of weapons and explosives, supporting terrorists, obstruction of justice, and attempted murder of an Alvarado police officer.
The DOJ said Benjamin Hanil Song was the alleged leader of the group. He had shot and injured a police officer during the attack on July 4, 2025. The Justice Department described it as the first major conviction of antifa-related defendants.
The US Department of Homeland Security described the verdict as a “victory for law and order.”
In September 2025, President Donald Trump designated Antifa a “domestic terrorist organization.” The White House alleges that the movement has been involved in several violent demonstrations and actions against law enforcement agencies.
Antifa i.e. ‘Anti-Fascist’ movement is considered to be a network of leftist activists. The group is known for anti-fascist demonstrations and counter-protests. The movement came to national attention in 2020 during the demonstrations following the death of George Floyd.

Bill Gates claims – Epstein tried to blackmail
Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has claimed in testimony before the US Congress that late finance magnate and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein tried to blackmail him based on information about his extramarital affairs. Gates said that Epstein wanted to bring him back in touch, but his efforts were not successful.
The transcript of closed-door testimony before the U.S. House Oversight Committee on June 10 was made public Tuesday. The inquiry was part of an investigation into Epstein’s network and his ties to influential people.
Gates admitted contacting Epstein in 2011 despite his 2008 sex crime conviction. He told that relations with Epstein were ended in 2014. After this, Epstein tried to put pressure on her by using sensitive information related to her personal life.
Gates admitted to having extramarital affairs with two adult Russian women, but said they had no ties to any of Epstein’s criminal networks.
He rejected the allegations related to STDs, drugs and meeting women, saying that Epstein never made any such arrangements for him. Gates also said he never visited Epstein’s private island, ranch or Florida home.
