Israel has approved the ceasefire and hostage release agreement under US President Donald Trump’s 20 point Gaza Peace Plan. According to CNN, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called a security cabinet meeting on Thursday and took this decision after discussions with ministers.

The government has now approved the blueprint for the release of all hostages, whether alive or dead.
Officials said the ceasefire has come into effect immediately. US ambassadors Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner were also present at the meeting.
The first phase involves an exchange of hostages and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from parts of Gaza.
Hamas’ chief negotiator Khalil al-Hayya said the first phase, following the US guarantee, was a sign that the war in Gaza was completely over.
However, despite the ceasefire, 30 people are reported dead in Gaza. Officials at local hospitals said that dozens of people were injured in the Israeli attack and many were buried under the debris.
Trump said at the White House,
Last night we achieved a historic success. The war in Gaza is over and I hope this peace will last for a long time.
He said that all the hostages would be released by Monday or Tuesday and soon he would go to Egypt to attend the formal signing ceremony.
