An earthquake of 6.1 magnitude occurred in Afghanistan late Tuesday night. Its tremors were felt in many parts of Jammu and Kashmir in India. People came out of their homes in panic due to the sudden earth shaking.
According to the National Center for Seismology, the earthquake occurred at 11:44 minutes 47 seconds (Indian time). Its center was about 72 kilometers south-east of Faizabad city of Afghanistan.
The depth of the earthquake was recorded at 261 kilometers. People also shared information about the tremors on social media. At many places, people came out of their homes at night and stood in open fields. At present there is no news of any loss of life or property.
Recently there was an earthquake of magnitude 6 in Afghanistan. So far 800 people had died in this, while more than 2800 people were injured.
