Emotions and feelings are like a spectrum. If you can think, if you have a brain, which makes you human, you must also have emotions. I am not talking about good or bad feelings. The human brain is the largest among all creatures. Why so? In terms of size, the brain of an elephant will be larger than the brain of a human because its body is larger. But the human brain is the largest in proportion to the body. The nervous system of the human body completely controls his body, but even then there is so much energy and space left in the human mind that he can do much more. If someone waves at you, your brain tells you to wave. Then the hand moves. The nervous system sends a message that your hand should be raised, so your hand rises. But even after doing all the basic tasks of life like eating, drinking, raising a family, a person can do a lot more and he has also done it. You see from where man started his journey and where he has reached today. When there is so much space in a person’s mind, the things that once troubled him also remain in him, which you call sorrow. Similarly, the memories and thoughts of those things which were very good and which were very sweet also remain. It is called love. There is a place in your mind for anger or hatred against someone who once had something bad happen to you and who caused you a lot of trouble. There is so much space in our brain that whatever events and things happened to us, the reactions that came from them and the results you derived from them, all that remains in the mind. The special thing is that these qualities continue in your blood. When a child is born, he is not ‘blank’. It is not that he does not have emotions then. All this has been happening for centuries and is in his blood. These emotions, both good and bad, are in his DNA. And that’s because he has room for emotions. What he sees, thinks and the instincts he has are passed down from generation to generation in his DNA. A child is born, he gets hungry and starts crying. It is his emotions that make him cry. When his mother hugs him, he becomes silent. These are also his emotions, which have always been with him in his blood. But some emotions are formed from experiences of life, and are formed because some incident happens to you. But no event has any emotion. An accident, an incident is not an emotion. But what you felt from it, the conclusion you reached from it, the result you could apply anywhere, is emotion. And those emotions also stay with you. You forget the reason why it happened, but the feeling remains with you – whether it’s sadness, anger or happiness. This is a gamut. You were born with it, with two-three notes. But with time, through your experiences, that gamut gets completed. One does not remember the reason why this happened, but one realizes what sadness is, what happiness is, what love is, what it is to ‘miss’ someone. A gamut of all these emotions, feelings or emotions is present in you as soon as you are born, which gets completed with the experiences and time of life.
