Air India said- safety of the crew is a priority
The incident is from a few days ago, on which Air India has issued a statement on Sunday. The company said, “The safety of the crew is of utmost importance to us. We are extremely saddened by the incident in London. The hotel is a part of an international chain. In such a situation, it is disappointing that such an attack took place there.”

The company spokesperson said that Air India is in touch with the local police and the hotel management. They have appealed that the privacy of the air hostess should be respected considering the seriousness of the matter. At the same time, some media reports have also revealed the news of the woman being raped. However, neither the woman nor the airline has given any information about this.

Claim- The accused is a citizen of Nigeria
According to the report, the accused is a Nigerian citizen. It is being speculated that the attacker might be a common homeless person who might have entered the hotel taking advantage of the silence in the night. After this, he entered the woman’s room where he attacked her.

Earlier in April last year, a passenger misbehaved with an air hostess in an Air India flight from Delhi to London. After this, he was banned for 2 years. According to the report, the passenger started fighting with the crew members. He also assaulted them, in which 2 crew members were injured.

2 year ban on the person found guilty of misbehaving with the crew
After this, Air India had also appealed to DGCA to put the guilty person in the no flying list. After this, the committee had decided that the guilty person would be banned from flying in India for the next two years.

Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is a regulatory body of the government which regulates civil aviation. Under provisions 22, 23 and 29 of the Indian Aircraft Rules 1937, it can prevent passengers from travelling and deboard them if they create a ruckus, consume excessive alcohol or use abusive language in the aircraft.
