The doctors had assured us that he would be fine and even in the hospital it seemed that he would be fine. But age takes its toll, and you can’t fight it. Everyone was hopeful, and we all thought that we would celebrate his birthday on 8th December. Everyone was preparing for it with great pomp.

Let us tell you that Dharmendra would have turned 90 on December 8. Vicky also asks Anil in the interview how he came to know about Dharmendra’s demise? On this Anil says- ‘This probably happened around 9.30 o’clock. I had a talk with Sunny sir at 10, 10:30. Every son will cry that his father is gone. This was very sad news for us. By 10.30 I had come to know about his demise.
Anil has made many films with Dharmendra and his two sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol. Dharmendra directed Anil in the film Hukumat (1987) in the year 1987. Later both of them worked together in Elaan-e-Jung, Farishte and Tehelka.

In the year 2007, Anil Sharma had brought all three Deols together on the big screen through the film ‘Apne’. Even today the film and its songs are very much liked.
