Ritesh Deshmukh, Aftab Shivdasani and Vivek Oberoi’s comedy film ‘Masti 4’, released last year, is stuck in legal troubles.
Popular content creator Ashish Sharma has filed a case in the Delhi High Court on January 6, accusing the makers of the film of plagiarism.
According to the news of Live Law, Ashish has claimed that a comedy sequence in Masti 4 is very similar to his reel, which is titled ‘Shaak Karne Ka Result’. He posted that reel on January 31, 2024. His reel was viewed more than 11 million times.

In his petition, he said that the makers of the film have copied the original idea of the story as well as the plot, the actors’ interactions, the sequence of events and even the comedy dialogues.
That too without taking permission or giving credit from them. The content creator has demanded a full report of the financial compensation and profits of the film.
Justice Tushar Rao Gedela, presiding over the single judge bench, heard Ashish Sharma’s plea for immediate relief. Keeping in mind the upcoming digital release of the film, the court issued a notice to the makers. The notice said that he should be allowed to submit his reply before any interim order is considered.
The next hearing of this case is expected to be held on January 13. At present, there has been no statement from the makers on this entire matter.

Talking about Masti 4, this film is a film of Masti franchise. This is a sex comedy film, directed by Milap Milan Zaveri. The film is produced by Balaji Motion Pictures, Maruti International and Shree Adhikari Brothers.
The film stars Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi and Aftab Shivdasani in lead roles. It was released in theaters on 21 November 2025.
Made with a budget of Rs 40 crore, this film could not do much at the box office. The worldwide collection of the film was only Rs 15 crore. Thus, it is the lowest grossing film of the Masti franchise. The film is expected to release on the OTT platform this month.
