Raj Babbar was already married to Nadir Babbar and had two children when he fell in love with co-actor Smita Patil. Raj had also decided to marry Smita.

In a recent interview, Raj’s daughter Juhi told that when she was 7 years old, she came to know about the affair of Raj Babbar and Smita Patil. Smita took great care of him and his brother. However, all these things caused a lot of trouble to Juhi’s mother Nadira.

‘Smita loved us very much’

Speaking to Lehren Retro, Juhi said- When I was barely seven years old, my father told me about his marriage with Smita Patil. I think she (Smita) had it in her mind that we are the children of the person who is most special to her and hence we are special to her too.

She used to love us a lot. Whenever she went on a trip, she always brought gifts for us and she always tried to serve us the food we liked at home. These little memories are nice, but unfortunately, there aren’t too many of them.

Juhi said- Papa wanted to make Smita his wife.

Juhi further said- As a child I knew that this was the woman with whom my father wanted to live. He also wants to make her his wife. I could see that Smita was trying for me and my younger brother. But I knew that my mother was unhappy with it.

Juhi spoke on bonding with step brother

After overcoming all the difficulties, Raj Babbar married Smita Patil in 1983. From this marriage he had a son, whose name is Prateek Babbar. On her bonding with step brother Preetak, Juhi said- Prateek is my brother. There was no hesitation in this. He is my brother and no one can change that fact.
