A clash broke out between two parties while bringing the Ganesh idol to Mazgaon in Mumbai. Deputy Secretary of Ganpati Mandal, Vivek Rane said, when we were taking out the arrival journey of Ganpati.
Eggs were thrown at the Yatra from a building about 30 to 40 meters away from the pandal. This incident is objectionable. We are demanding strict action against those responsible.
After the incident, there was a clash between the two sides. After tension increased between the two groups, police reached the spot and are trying to control the situation.
This is the same building from which the egg is claimed to have been thrown.
More than 10 thousand Ganesh pandals in Mumbai
This year Ganeshotsav will start in Maharashtra from 14th September. There are around 10,600 public Ganesh mandals in Mumbai, but around 2,500 have taken permission for the 10-day festival. It is estimated that around 28 lakh Ganesh idols will be installed across Maharashtra.
Online single-window system has been started for pandal permission in Mumbai. In this, along with BMC, NOC of local police and traffic police will also be available online. Applications can be made till 13 September.
This year, big troupes of Mumbai have prepared different themes. A replica of Ayodhya’s Ram temple in Andhericha Raja, while some pandals have chosen superhero-like themes.
