After the controversial statement on Kannada language, the release of Kamal Haasan’s film Thug Life has been stopped in Karnataka. In this case, Kamal Haasan has filed a petition in the High Court demanding the removal of the ban from the film’s release.

In the Karnataka High Court, Kamal Haasan has filed a petition by Chief Executive Officer of his production house Raj Kamal Films International. In the petition, Kamal Haasan has requested the court not to instruct the Karnataka Government, Police Department and Film Trade Bodies not to obstruct the film’s release. The petition also demanded the Director General of Police and the city police commissioner to ensure adequate security arrangements for screening.

Kamal Haasan’s film Thug Life is scheduled to be released across the country on 5 June. During the audio launch event of the film held on 24 May, Kamal Haasan said that Kannada language is born from Tamil. After Kamal Haasan’s statement on Kannada language came out, his opposition began all over Karnataka. His posters were burnt in many places and there was a demand to stop the release of his film.

Karnataka film Chamber banned film release

Due to the language controversy, on May 28, the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) banned the release of Kamal Haasan’s film ‘Thug Life’. KFCC President M Narasimhlu told the news agency PTI that if Kamal Haasan wants his film to be released, he would have to apologize.

Apart from the film Chamber, Karnataka minister Shivraj Tangdagi has also clearly said that if the actor does not apologize, his films will not be allowed to be released in the state. In his statement, Shivraj Tangdagi has said that after the dispute he wrote a letter to KFCC, after which a decision has been issued to ban his film in Karnataka.

Karnataka CM said- Kamal Haasan does not know the history of Kannada

Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah said in a statement on the dispute, the history of Kannada is very old. Poor Kamal Haasan is not aware of this.

In response to Karnataka CM, Kamal Haasan said, ‘What I said in love. Many historians have taught me the history of language. I had no meaning. Politicians are not eligible to talk about language. They do not have the ability to talk about it, I am also involved in it. We should leave discussions on these serious issues to historians, archaeologists and language experts.

Kamal Haasan said- if I am not wrong then I will not apologize

After receiving the warning of the film Chamber, Kamal Haasan told the media outside the headquarters of the DMK party in Chennai, this is democracy. I trust law and new. My love for Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala is true. No one is suspicious of this, just besides those who run the agenda. I have been threatened before and if I am wrong then I will apologize, but if I am not wrong then I will not apologize.
