Congress state president Nana Patole said on Monday that the first list of Congress for Maharashtra Assembly elections will be declared on Tuesday.
The meeting of Maharashtra Mahavikas Aghadi (Congress-Shiv Sena Uddhav and NCP Sharad Pawar) will be held in Mumbai today. In this, sharing will be finalized on all 288 assembly seats of Maharashtra.
On Monday, Shiv Sena (UBT) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut had said that Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) has agreed on 210 out of 288 assembly seats. This is a big achievement. We will defeat those who looted Maharashtra by fighting the elections as a force. The MVA comprises Shiv Sena (UBT), Congress and Sharad Pawar’s NCP (SP).
Raut’s statement came at a time when discussions were going on about Uddhav Thackeray’s party separating from MVA. It is being said that the party can contest elections alone on all 288 seats. For the last few days, along with talks regarding seat sharing in MVA, there are also reports of rift between Congress and Shiv Sena (UBT).
Regarding this, Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Assembly and Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar had said on Monday –
Discussion is still pending on 17 seats in MVA. We are having a dispute with the Thackeray faction on some seats. There are three parties in the alliance. Seat sharing between three parties takes time.
It is believed that Uddhav’s party and Congress are making their respective claims on seven seats in Vidarbha. Meanwhile, Congress State President Nana Patole said on Monday that the first list of Congress candidates will be declared tomorrow (October 22).
There is also speculation that Shiv Sena (UBT)-BJP will contest elections together. A few days ago, Home Minister Amit Shah had also talked to Sanjay Raut on phone. After this, there is also speculation that Shiv Sena (UBT) and BJP will contest the elections together. Both the parties broke the alliance after the 2019 assembly elections.

When asked about the phone conversation, Raut said- BJP is spreading false news. They are afraid of defeat, that is why wrong news is being spread. BJP broke Shiv Sena, brought down Uddhav Thackeray’s government. He ensured that the party name and election symbol went to the Shinde faction. The worst thing BJP did was that it handed over the reins of the government to traitors. They have been looting Maharashtra since then.
Akhilesh had asked for 12 seats from MVA Samajwadi Party (SP) has sought 12 seats from Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) in Maharashtra. Party chief Akhilesh Yadav announced the candidate from Dhule Assembly City seat on October 19. After this, while talking to the media, he said- We have asked for 12 seats from MVA. The details of the seats have also been sent to them.
On October 18, the party had announced the nomination of sitting MLA Raees Shaikh from Bhiwandi East, Riyaz Azmi from Bhiwandi West and Shan-e-Hind from Malegaon Central. SP’s Maharashtra state president and MLA Abu Asim Azmi had said – We have announced five candidates so that the MVA knows that we are strong here, otherwise they will tell in the meeting that your candidate is not strong.
