These more than 5,000 dancers have broken the old record by a huge margin with their dance moves.
A wonderful cultural scene was seen at the Galle Face Promenade in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Here more than 5,000 dancers danced together and won the Guinness World Record for ‘World’s Largest Bharatnatyam Dance Lesson’.
The event was organized with the aim of keeping the Indian classical dance tradition alive and strengthening India-Sri Lanka cultural ties. Indian High Commissioner Santosh Jha received the official Guinness World Records certificate at this grand event. These more than 5,000 dancers have broken the old record by a huge margin with their dance moves. Earlier this world record was in the name of India only, which was established by ‘Tyagayya Charitable Trust’ in Chennai on 2 February 2020 with 416 participants.
The spectacular presentation transformed the iconic seaside venue into a vibrant display of tradition, discipline and cultural excellence. The event proved to be a historic moment for classical dance and paid a proud tribute to the unbreakable cultural ties between India and Sri Lanka.
