Three people were killed in firing near Maria Mangal forest area in Karnataka’s Chamarajanagar on Saturday. The dead include Anthony Swamy, Sebastian David Kumar and John Rose Peter.
According to the FIR, two cows had gone missing on August 14. The next day the three men went to the forest near Maria Mangal to search for them. Meanwhile, the forest officials opened fire on them. Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has ordered a magistrate-led investigation into the matter. He said that the entire truth of the incident will be revealed only after the investigation is completed.
