The Indian Ministry of External Affairs on Wednesday dismissed the concerns of the interim government of Bangladesh. Bangladesh had claimed that some workers of the Awami League party of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina are doing political activity against her in India.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said that the Government of India is not aware of any anti -Bangladesh activity in India from Awami League. India does not allow political activities against any country from its land.

Jaiswal called the statement of the interim government of Bangladesh wrong and said that India wants to conduct independent, fair elections in Bangladesh as soon as possible, so that the wishes of the public can be known.

Younus government demands- Hasina’s office should be closed

According to Bangladeshi media, the Yunus government today demanded India to close Sheikh Hasina’s Awami League party office. According to him, these offices are running in Delhi and Kolkata.

Bangladesh’s Foreign Ministry said that the activities of Awami League leaders living in India are against the people of Bangladesh and the country.

The statement came after the statement of Bangladesh Chief General Walker Walker-e-Zaman, in which he said that the army would help the interim government in holding independent and fair elections to be held in February next year.

Sheikh Hasina’s party banned in Bangladesh

The interim government of Bangladesh banned the Awami League in October last year. This decision was taken under the anti -terrorism law. This ban will remain in force until cases against the party and its leaders in the International Criminal Tribunal are completed.

After Sheikh Hasina left the country, Khaleda Zia’s Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has emerged as the largest party. At the same time, the protesting students have formed the National Citizen Party (NCP), which is believed to be the support of Yunus.

Sheikh Hasina’s coup with quota system

The High Court in Bangladesh implemented 30% quota system in jobs last year, against which students started the movement on 5 June 2024.

Peaceful demonstrations began to demand improvement in the quota system, which soon became violent. During this movement, more than one thousand people died. The result of the movement was that Sheikh Hasina had to leave the country on 5 August.

The interim government was formed by implementing the National Emergency under the guidance of the soldiers and the President. Nobel laureate Mohammad Yunus is leading this government.
