India on Wednesday rejected the Pakistan-China border commission launched in Islamabad. The Ministry of External Affairs said that Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are an integral part of India.
The Foreign Ministry said that no border exists between Pakistan and China. According to the ministry, this commission has been formed without any legal basis.
India said that Pakistan has no right to join any agreement related to Indian territory. He asked Pakistan to vacate the illegally occupied areas.
The ministry said that Pakistan has no right to enter into any agreement related to Indian territory under illegal and forcible occupation of Pakistan.
The 1963 agreement was also declared illegal
India also termed the so-called ‘China-Pakistan Border Agreement’ of March 2, 1963 as illegal and invalid. This agreement was made to determine the border between Xinjiang and Pakistan-occupied Gilgit-Baltistan.
India said that China-Pakistan border cooperation involving Indian territories would be considered completely unacceptable.
India asked Pakistan to stop such “theatrics” i.e. show-off activities. Also, Pakistan should vacate its illegally and forcibly occupied areas.
Pakistan claims- Commission will open new avenues
According to Pakistan, this Border Commission will open the way to increase mutual cooperation between the two countries. This will boost joint border survey, trade movement and connectivity.
Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry wrote on X that the first meeting of the Commission was held at the Foreign Ministry in Islamabad.
The meeting was co-chaired by Li Ya, Deputy Director General of the Department of Border and Maritime Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, and Bilal Mahmood Chaudhry, Director General of China Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan.
