Biden announced his decision to quit the race on July 22 at 1:45 pm (11:16 pm IST). Shortly after, he endorsed Kamala Harris to become the Democratic candidate.

Since then, many Democratic leaders have supported Kamala Harris as the party’s presidential candidate. Former US President Barack Obama had maintained a distance till now but now he has also agreed to Kamala Harris.

Obama told Michelle that he would do everything possible to get her to the White House.

In response to this, Kamala Harris thanked the Obama couple for supporting her and also expressed gratitude for their decades-old friendship. Kamala Harris said on the phone – Your support means a lot to me.
