1. Drive away pigeons from old CDs
Old and useless CDs lying in the house can be very useful in keeping pigeons away. Pigeons are afraid of flashing and moving things. In such a situation, if you hang an old CD with a thread near the balcony railing, window or wall, it keeps rotating when the wind blows. Due to this, sunlight is reflected and falls on the eyes of the pigeons. This brightness bothers them and they avoid sitting at that place.

The best thing about this trick is that it does not cost anything and it only takes a few minutes to install, if your balcony is big then you can install two-three CDs at different places.

2. Kitchen spices will also do wonders
Pigeons have a very strong sense of smell. This is the reason why they do not like some strong smells at all. You can drive them away by using black pepper, red chilli or cinnamon present in your kitchen. For this, sprinkle light masala on those places where pigeons often sit. Pigeons avoid coming there again due to the strong aroma of spices. Keep in mind that do not add spices in too much quantity, otherwise there may be difficulty in cleaning. Apart from this, a spray can also be prepared by mixing vinegar and water. Sprinkle this spray on the corners, railings and floor of the balcony. Pigeons also do not like the smell of vinegar and they gradually keep distance from that place.

3. Easy solution of aluminum foil
If there are no old CDs in the house then aluminum foil can also be a good option. The brightness and sound of the foil both make the pigeons feel uncomfortable. You can tie long strips of aluminum foil around railings or window ledges. They keep moving when the wind blows and reflect sunlight. Due to this the pigeons get scared and start staying away. This method is especially good for those people who have small balconies and do not have space to put much stuff.

4. Baking soda is also effective
Very few people know that baking soda can also help in keeping pigeons away. When pigeons sit somewhere, their feet like a comfortable surface, but the texture of baking soda seems strange to them. You can sprinkle a little baking soda on railings or places where pigeons often sit. Due to this, they do not like to stay there for long and gradually move to another place.

It is also important to keep the balcony clean
If pigeon droppings or food grains are already lying in the balcony, they will return there again and again. Therefore, it is very important to clean daily. Try not to let water stagnate in the balcony and do not leave food items open. Many people feed the pigeons, due to which they consider that place as their permanent home. Therefore one should avoid giving food to them in the balcony.
