Four people of a Hindu family have been found dead under suspicious circumstances in Rangpur city of Bangladesh. These include a retired school teacher, his wife, daughter and son. The bodies of all four were found in a closed house on Saturday night. Police, CID and Detective Branch have started investigation. The deceased have been identified as Ganpati Chakraborty (65), wife Pritilata Chakraborty (50), daughter Agami Chakraborty Prarthi (23) and son Priyam Chakraborty (12). Ganpati was a teacher in Rangpur Zilla School and retired on December 31 last year. After retirement, he was also doing homeopathy work. There was no contact with the family since Thursday, phones were switched off. According to family members, Pritilata’s younger sister Pooja Chakraborty spoke to her for the last time on Thursday afternoon. After this, all four mobile phones of the family became switched off from Thursday night. The family reached his house in Daspada area of Rangpur on Saturday night. The main gate of the house was closed and all the lights inside were also off. After this the police was informed. The police broke the lock of the house and entered inside and recovered the bodies of all four. The bodies of all four were found at different places in the house. According to Rangpur Metropolitan CID officer Subir Chaudhary, Ganpati’s body was found on the terrace, while the bodies of his wife and daughter were found near the stairs. The body of 12 year old son Priyam was found under the bed. Family members said they did not know who targeted the family and why. Ganpati’s niece Soma Chakraborty said that her uncle had no disputes or enmity with anyone. The family had built a new house in Daspada and were living there. Ganapathi’s daughter Agami had completed her master’s degree in English this year. His 12-year-old son Priyam was studying in class 5. Along with the police, CID also started investigating the case. According to Nazmul Kader, officer in-charge of Rangpur Metropolitan Kotwali police station, along with the police, CID and Detective Branch are also investigating the case. The forensic team has also collected evidence from the spot. At present, the police is trying to find out when and how all four died and what was the reason behind it. The exact cause of death and the complete sequence of events have not been revealed yet.
