Violence against Hindus in Bangladesh is not stopping. There once again hatred tried to take my life. A Hindu man named Khokan Chandra was surrounded by the mob in Shariatpur area. First he was brutally beaten. Then he was stabbed with a knife. After this, an attempt was made to burn him alive by pouring petrol.
At the last moment, businessman Khokan Chandra saved his life by jumping into the nearby pond. But this attack once again shows the extent to which atrocities against minorities have reached in Bangladesh.
According to the information, this brutal attack took place on Wednesday (31 December) at around 9:00 pm in Tiloi area of Kaneshwar Union. Khokon Chandra Das (40), is the son of Paresh Chandra Das. He owns a pharmacy in Keurbhanga market of Damudya. Khokan Chandra Das closed his shop on Wednesday night and headed towards home. When they reached Tiloi area, a group of miscreants stopped them. The attackers attacked him with sharp weapons and then poured petrol on his body and set him on fire.
To save his life from the flames, Khokan Chandra Das jumped into a nearby pond. Later, the local people rescued him in critical condition and admitted him to Shariatpur Sadar Hospital.
This incident has spread widespread panic in the area. The motive behind the attack and the identity of the people involved have not yet been confirmed.
Fourth incident in last two weeks
Earlier, on 18 December 2025, Dipu Chandra Das was killed by the mob in Bangladesh. Then his body was tied to a tree and burnt. He was accused of blasphemy. After this, on December 25, Amrit Mandal was beaten to death by the mob. However, to save itself from the scandal, Bangladesh had said that Amrit Mandal was a criminal and the mob had killed him due to extortion.
After this, on December 29, Bajendra Biswas (42) was shot dead while on security duty in Mehrabari area. The police had arrested the accused Noman Mia (29). The accused said that he had shot jokingly.
Recently, attacks on Hindus have come to light in Bangladesh after the coup. After Sheikh Hasina left Bangladesh, groups of students who protested fiercely have made Mohammad Yunus the head of the interim government. Yunus is a famous Bangladeshi economist, social entrepreneur and Nobel Peace Prize winner. After taking over the government, he also made many anti-India statements.
